Inspired.
While eating lunch today I noticed myself in a trance, mesmerized by the leaves of an urban tree blowing in the wind.
Relaxation breathed through my fatigued body. For months now, I’ve been in a state of growing frustration over the complexity of my latest undertaking. Ideas have more or less stopped in my head. Each night I still dream. Occupied only with the same tasks I struggle with during the day. Day after day.
Openness, to me, means interchangeability, interlinkedness, fluidity, continuity. Nature is open. Nature can generate leaves with infinite variations blowing in the wind.
I’m beginning to feel inspired again. With a new dream; to mass produce something that is open. One simple idea reproduced in infinite interlinked variations. Like nature.

I’d lie if I’d say that none of us has been frustrated at some point in time – but this is such a prosperous project that we cannot afford to fail. Lots of people are fighting for freedom along your side, Sean, and we all have similar goals.
Let’s make this a success, shall we
There are lots of people with lots of great ideas and lots of potential. But they don’t know where they can help or where Openmoko is even headed now. Making this clear might not be easy but it’ll let people at least know that they can do something to participate and drive development forward a little faster. And that’s what we all would love to see, no?

Sean, it’s about time you saw this. Let’s do it! Let’s infuse our work with nature, variation, infinity, creativity, chaos, humanity, beauty. These aren’t meaningless or useless things, and the idea that they cannot be married to what we work on is a lie.
I know what you mean…! That picture looks so quiet, yet powerful in the sense that there is so much “knowledge” there, yet it is so accessible and simple! Could you maybe email me a high-res version? I’d like to use it as a wallpaper!
